About SW-Mod

The Emperor: Battle for Dune Mod, SW-Mod enhances the game for some extra fun. First of all, Harvesters are enhanced. They heal very fast, have a lot of life, and move faster. They collect spice at the same speed but they unload the spice slightly faster. There are also new buildings and units but the major enhancements are the SuperWeapons which are basically super upgraded units. These are the Sonic Tank, Deviator, and Devastator. To see the enhancements, view the readme.txt file included with the download or go to the Patch Info page. To download, go to Released Versions under the Main Menu.

Posting

Posting is different than on message boards, also known as forums. To post, you must E-Mail EliteSpy with your username, topic, and the text in the post.

Experience

Experience is rewarded to the user when the user does some of the requirement. For example: For a Marine to become and Advanced Marine, the user must make suggestions for next patches, or find bugs. An experience bar looks like this: [--------------------] (20/20)
The experience needed for the next level is determined on how many ticks you need.

Recruit Exp Bar: [---------------] (15/15)

Marine Exp Bar: [--------------------] (20/20)

Advanced Marine Exp Bar: [-------------------------] (25/25)

Elite Trooper Exp Bar: [------------------------------] (30/30)

Specialist Exp Bar: [-----------------------------------] (35/35)

Sergeant Exp Bar: [----------------------------------------] (40/40)

Lieutenant Exp Bar: [--------------------------------------------------] (50/50)

Examples of exp bars are:
Full: [--------------------] (20/20) (Just an example, cant be like this since this will bring you to the next level)
Half: [----------            ] (10/20)
None: [                        ] (0/20)

Karma

Karma is an interesting addon to the ranking system. To earn karma, you must be a regular member, and be friendly to others. All karma is lost when the user is caught doing something bad such as swearing to others. Karma can reach up to 30000 and as low as 10, new users start with 10 karma. If the user is caught doing something bad while he/she has 10 karma, the user will lose all their experience and rank.

The karma indicator shows up right next to the user's experience bar. An example would be: Agent007 [----------            ] (10/20) {24563}

In this example, the user has 24563 karma. Karma is something that every user should take advantage of. It's benefits are that the more karma you have, the more experience and karma you get for things that the user participates in. Karma is calculated by the following: (Karma + Karma Gained) + 15%. This means that you get 15% of your karma added, after you gain the initial increase. (Note: The 15% is not added to the constant flow of karma from the Ordos)

A good idea is you find a bug, (bugs are worth the most points) you should wait until you have a high karma so that you gain major exp and karma after you submit it. Karma starts off slow, but when you have more, you will gain more each time since you have more karma. Since its hard to start off, users will not want to loose it by doing stupid things.
As well, Ordos Commanders will have a 20% better chance of sabotaging Harkonnen missiles when they send a spy at 30000 karma.

Houses

Above all other options, users get to choose their house. Each have their own advantages, so pick the one that is right for you. New users get to pick their house, but you will not be stuck with it. Every promotion, you recieve what is called a Switch Point. Switch Points can be used at any time to switch your House, but you cannot switch once you run out of them. (Note: If you choose to switch to Harkonnen, you will lose all your karma. When switching from Harkonnen to another house, you keep your karma. Atreides to Ordos and vise-versa do not affect your karma.) The houses are as following:

House Atreides - House Atreides of the water world, Caladan. The house is very noble to their duke Achillus. If you wish to join House Atreides, you will gain extra karma for anything you do. In addition to their noble troops, the Atreides are used to Harkonnen Missile strikes. They have developed an anti-missile plan to prevent the missiles, but they cost too much to keep running all the time. When ordered, the Atreides will put up their defences for one day, preventing missile strikes in a process they call 'Missile Defence'. Missile Defence costs 1000 karma and protects the warrior for the rest of the day that it was activated on.
Advantages: - +10% of total karma added for things done (default = 15%)
                     - 1 extra expericence point gained for things done
                     - Ability to use 'Missile Defence' at the cost of 3000 karma (lasts one day)

House Harkonnen - House Harkonnen of the volcanic world, Giedi Prime. The Harkonnen are evil warriors who believe in brute power and unmatchable strength. For their evil deeds, they recieve less karma. As well, the Harkonnen have a maximum of 3000 karma, any more and the trooper would be considered too kind to be a harkonnen. Due to their lack of karma, the Harkonnen use a more offensive approach. If a Harkonnen trooper has at least 1000 karma, they can launch a deadly nuclear missile at their enemy. This causes the enemy to lose half their karma and experience.
Advantages: - Ability to use Nuclear Strike at the cost of 1000 karma per missile
                     - 3 extra expericence points gained for things done
Disadvantages: - 10 less karma added for things done
                          - maximum amount of karma limited to 3000

House Ordos - House Ordos of the ice world, Drakonis IV. The Ordos are mercenaries, they care for nothing; save power and wealth. The Ordos are extremely rich, being able to constantly give away money, effectively creating a large flow of karma. In addition, they have extra defences against the harkonnen attacks, effectively reducing the amount of damage it will cause. For the Ordos to be absolutely sure that they cannot be attacked by Harkonnen missiles, they have the ability to send out a spy to attempt to sabotage the enemy's missiles at the cost of 3000 karma. Although this may seem like a lot of karma, it is well worth it to be sure that the enemy cannot reduce your karma by even more and if the user has a high karma already, he/she can gain back the karma very quickly. The chance to sabotage the missiles depends on the skill of the commander.
Advantages: - constant flow of karma (150-200 karma gained daily)
                     - only lose 25% rather than 50% karma from harkonnen attacks
                     - 2 less experience is lost from Harkonnen missile strikes
                     - Ability to use 'Sabotage Missiles' at the cost of 3000 karma

Subhouses

Subhouses are like houses, in that you choose one from the start. The only difference is that if you want to switch, you have to switch right on promotion(not using Switch Points). As well, there are five subhouses, there are requirements for them, their bonuses are much less, and you can pick two subhouses depending on your rank. You can change one or both subhouses every promotion. The subhouses are as following:

Fremen - The Fremen are the warriors of Arrakis. The have allied with the Atreides in attempt for mutual benefits. Choosing to ally with the Fremen means that the Atreides commander will gain more of what he specializes in, karma.
Advantage: +5% of total karma added for things done (default for Atreides = 25%)
Requirements: House=Atreides

Imperial Sardaukar - The Imperial Sardaukars are mercenary, they will ally with the most powerful force. The Imperial Sardaukars are very beneficial for every side, but they will not join inexperienced commanders.
Advantages: Atreides - Missile Defense cost is 2000 rather than 3000
Harkonnen - 50% extra experience gained from a successful nuclear strike
Ordos - 500-600 karma gained daily rather than 150-200
Requirements: Rank=Elite Trooper(or higher)

Guild of Navigators - Although once strong and loyal, the Guild of Navigators has made the wrong choice. They allied with the Harkonnen, believing that they could get the ultimate power. This proved them wrong, as Harkonnen have low karma. Now, the Guild still rests allied with the Harkonnen, with the only benefit of leftover karma and some defence.
Advantages: - Maximum karma increased by 2000
                     - 5% less chance of missiles getting sabotaged
Requirements: House=Harkonnen AND NOT Rank=Recruit

House Ix - House Ix is very easy going. They provide service to anyone in need, however, they are enemies with the Tleilaxu. If you choose to ally with the Ix, you will gain extra experience from their masteries.
Advantage: 2 extra experience gained for things done
Requirements: NOT Subhouse=Tleilaxu

House Tleilaxu - The Tleilaxu are obsessed with infestation. They have the ability to create gholas of soldiers. A Ghola is basically a clone of the original. The Tleilaxu have been able to capture an Ordos spy, and create Gholas from it. Although the process is expensive, it pays off by allowing the Tleilaxu to use Sabotage Missiles just like the Ordos. Also, the Tleilaxu are very picky on the side that they want to join, they want the best of the best. On top of that, they will not side with you if you are allied with the Ix since they are enemies.
Advantage: Ability to use 'Sabotage Missiles' at the cost of 5000 karma
Requirements: NOT House=Ordos AND Rank=General AND NOT Subhouse=Ix

Nuclear Missiles

As we know, the evil Harkonnen have the ability to use nuclear missiles on opponents. The main reason we use it is to get to a higher position in the members area, or just for fun to make others angry. A successful nuclear strike gives the warrior tons of experience, depending on the amount of karma the victim had. Successfully nuclear striking a user with 30000 karma can mean up to 30 experience! To build a nuclear missile, you must have at least 1000 karma. Beware, an Ordos commander can sabotage your missiles so use then as soon as u can! Send a request to Elitespy that you wish to build a missile, and your karma will be replaced by a missile. Different classes have different missile capacities, the higher have more than the lower. Every missile that you have in your missile bay will show up next to your name in this picture:

To use a missile, E-Mail Elitespy with who you want to send the missile to, and how many missiles to send. Only one launch request is permitted per day, so it is best to have more missile capacity. The damage is calculated one after another, not all added up into one missile.
